The First Home Owner’s Grant, an initiative from the Queensland Government, could help you to buy your first home sooner, however, you need to act now if you want to take advantage of it.
The First Home Owners Grant, an initiative from the Queensland Government, could help you buy your first home sooner. However, it would help if you acted now to take advantage of it.
First-time homeowners are anticipated to apply for the extended grant amount beginning the first week of January 2024. These changes influence eligible transactions between November 19, 2023, and June 30, 2025. Eligible first-time home buyers receive $15,000 or $30,000 through the first homeowner grant to help them purchase or build a new home in Queensland.
Of course, specific criteria apply for you to be eligible for this grant, and conditions may apply depending on your eligibility.

If you reside in Queensland, you may be fortunate. The First Home Owners Grant provides eligible first-time home buyers with $15,000 or $30,000 to assist in purchasing or constructing a new home (defined as a completely new dwelling that has not been previously inhabited).
Specifically, the grant amounts are:
– $30,000 for contracts signed between November 20 2023 and 30 June 2025 (inclusive).
– $15,000 for contracts signed before 20 November 2023.
For owner-builders, the same grant amounts apply. Still, the foundations must have been laid within the specified dates mentioned above.
However, you must meet all the eligibility criteria to receive this financial assistance (referred to informally as “free money,” but not by the government).
Time is running out on this fantastic initiative from the Queensland Government. Act now to avoid missing out!
